Submission Guidelines

General Information

White Wall Review is published annually. We accept work on any topic; however, work that is gratuitously violent, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, or is seen by the editors to be in bad taste will not be accepted.

Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis; however, final consideration of submissions for each annual issue begins in April of each year. Submissions received after vetting for each issue has been completed will be held for consideration for the next issue. Due to the volume of work received, we cannot return submissions and will only confirm receipt of submissions if an e-mail address is provided. Contributors are usually notified of the status of their submission by August.

All submissions must be accompanied by a brief cover letter that contains your name, the title(s) submitted, and a brief bio (40 words maximum). Where applicable, ensure that your cover letter indicates whether you are submitting a piece for consideration in the G. Raymond Chang School Contest for Creative Writing or the Postcard Story Contest. Cover letters for submissions to the G. Raymond Chang School Contest must also indicate the category (poetry, creative non-fiction, fiction) in which the submission is to be considered, the name of the CWWR course and term in which the contestant was enrolled, and the name of the course’s instructor.

Only photographic submissions will be accepted electronically.

Such submissions should be made as attachments to e-mail cover letters. Prose and poetry submissions must be in hard copy form. If your prose or poetry submissions are accepted for publication, you will be asked to submit an electronic copy of your work.

All submissions, excluding photography that has been submitted electronically, should be made in triplicate. One copy mustcontain your name and contact details. The two remaining copies should have no personally identifying material.

Poetry Submissions

You may submit up to five pieces of poetry per vetting round. Individual poetry pieces should not exceed five pages.

Prose Submissions

Prose works should be no longer than 3,000 words.

Visual Submissions

Photographs should be at least 5” x 7”. Black and white artwork is preferred. Colour photographs or visual art will be considered for the cover only. Include your name and contact details on the back of each submission. We do not accept submissions in slide format. Submissions should be sent to:
